[ List of Included Software ]
I like my PC or Laptop running lean and clean.
Fast.
-- I don't want lots of trialware, nagging shareware, apps running in the background that I don't use and "phoning home" about my machine or looking for updates every time I start up.... wasting my time.
Along those lines I take out a lot of junk that often comes preinstalled with Windows.
But
I have a computer for several reasons. And those reasons need software.
Good, lean, efficient software.
To write documents, edit Photos, read and annotate PDFs.
To watch all different formats of movies, edit audio.
You want the best Web Browser with the best Ad Blocker?
You want the best Media Player, best free Anti-Virus and maintenance utilities?
-- you have come to the right place.
I really like Windows, but I am an Open-Source advocate, and dabble in programming in several languages. (I have my own Slackware-Linux derivative distro called Absolute Linux.) I understand software and Operating Systems. I know very well how it works and how important it is to help get things done or to be fun to play with...
If you don't need good software, why get a laptop or PC? -- get a tablet. (Not being sarcastic. If you just want to browse the internet and look at Facebook and YouTube, streaming, then you are better served by a tablet.)
The machines I refurbish are from gov. auction (regional universities and gov. offices), almost all business Dell Laptops and PCs, some Lenovos. And if some are more than a few years old, don't be too quickly turned off. I pull out any mechanical drives and install SSDs or NVMEs. Speeds them up tremendously. Also usually install NEW batteries and add RAM. I can make even 10-year-old machines run faster than most stuff you can buy off the shelf.
If you don't believe me, just drop by and try them out. Nothing beats the eye test. Try before you buy. It means you can sit and play around with the machines, see how well they work, ask questions, get help on how to set things up or even install and try software you need it to run... if it doesn't meet your needs I would just take it out and sell it to someone else.
Why not eliminate the risk?
